Lunar New Year Batik Workshop

Ready to welcome the Year of the Horse with something more permanent than a firework? Join us in our collaboration with NEW kid in town, Alfred Works for a hands-on Batik painting workshop where tradition meets your personal flair.

In this session, you’ll learn the ancient art of wax-resist dyeing. Whether you want to create a majestic horse, a classic plum blossom, or an intricate "Good Fortune" symbol, we’ll guide you through every brushstroke of vibrant dye.

Through this 1 hour workshop you will create your own batik masterpiece while learning the basics of the art of batik canting.

What to expect:

• Learn about the history of batik, how it is made, and the tools & materials needed for batik canting
• Experiment with mixing colours to produce the right tone and shade
• All materials and tools provided
  
• Take away your very own hand-painted Batik masterpiece to hang in your home for a lucky year ahead.
