At the heart of this batik art print stands a girl dressed in a batik sarong, styled as "si ayu," meaning beautiful girl in Malay. Around her are the railway arches and canal of a British city, with wild daffodils in full spring bloom. The wax-resist technique merges two cultures in a single composition, Malaysian textile tradition meeting the urban landscape of the UK, each enriching the other.

The original artwork is hand-drawn and hand-dyed using traditional batik. Hot wax is applied directly to fabric, resisting the dye to build depth and texture that no digital process can replicate. What you receive is a high-quality fine art reproduction of that original piece, printed to preserve every line and tone.

A rich and layered piece for the home, suited to a living room, hallway or as a meaningful gift for anyone who values cultural exchange, diversity and belonging.
