Butterflies do not hold still for long. This scarf captures them at the moment they do, rendered in flowing Art Nouveau lines across a field of dreamy pink, blue and purple. Each wing is drawn by hand directly onto the fabric using the traditional batik technique, hot wax applied stroke by stroke before the dye is added, creating the soft halos of colour and delicate crackle lines that make every piece unlike any other.
The fabric is 100% satin-weave cotton, warm and breathable with a subtle sheen that catches the light without overwhelming it. Lighter than silk, kinder to the planet, and far more versatile in the British climate.
Wear it as a headscarf, neck wrap, shoulder throw or scarf top. Pair it with the optional Furo wooden handle and it becomes a bag. Five ways to wear one piece of wearable art.
No two scarves are ever identical. Each one is individually hand-drawn, waxed and dyed by the artist, meaning natural variations in colour and line are part of the piece, not a flaw in it.
