How to Use

Unleash your creativity with our Batik Craft Kit in four easy steps:

1.Prepare:Set up your workspace with a small cup of water and paper towel.

2.Mix:Use the dyes provided to mix variety of colours in your tray. Follow the guide to blend custom shades or add water for pastels.

3.Paint:Touch the dye to the pre-waxed fabric. Watch it flow perfectly up to the wax-resist lines. Use water to create beautiful gradients.

4.Dry:Let your masterpiece air-dry for 1–2 hours. Once dry, your artwork is ready to display in its bamboo frame!

Almond Blossom is a batik lamp kit inspired by Van Gogh's most tender painting, the blossoming almond branches he made to welcome his newborn nephew into the world. Delicate flowers open across sweeping branches. Two purple beetles rest quietly among the blooms. When the lamp is switched on, every colour you painted glows softly from within.

I drew this pattern by hand, bringing together Van Gogh's iconic blossom branches and the wax-resist craft of traditional Malaysian batik. The result is something that feels both familiar and completely new. The waxing is already done — all you do is pick up a brush and paint.

How it works

Paint the design using the dyes provided. Once dry, mount the finished batik cotton around the lamp base. Switch it on and watch the light come through every colour you chose. Takes 2 to 3 hours. Suitable for complete beginners. No heat, no mess, no experience needed.
